If we chose Cosmos, we'd benefit from a solid base layer L1 with fast finality and low fees. With onchain governance, a healthy userbase, and lots of liquidity, Cosmos checks all of our boxes for an L1.
Celestia is a rollup-focused Layer 1 chain built on Cosmos. This is one of our candidate chains because it is created almost perfectly for our use-case. Being a part of the Cosmos ecosystem is a big plus, as we can tap into existing users and liquidity.
Tezos is one of our candidate chains due to the recent release of the Mumbai upgrade, which enabled rollups on Tezos mainnet.
Tezos has fast blockspeed and low fees, but suffers from a lack of community awareness and liquidity. These aspects consistently keep the Tezos ecosystem small, and this must be considered alongside any tech innovations.
We like Polkadot due to its base-layer parachain architecture. We're creating our own appchain so this is a good design for what we are doing. Polkadot also has a growing and passionate community, combined with respectable liquidity locked onchain.
On the other hand, the parachain auction design leads to a high price to obtain our own chain. Block finality also lags behind its Tendermint-based competitors.
